Vijay Singh won the first FedEx Cup event in a great start to the PGA Tour playoffs. After a bogey on the 12th hole, Singh finished with birdies on the 13th and 17th holes to move into a tie with Sergio Garcia and Kevin Sutherland. Singh and Garcia made terrific birdies on the 18th and first playoff hole, making 26 and 27 foot putts respectively. Sutherland found trouble off the tee and never recovered.
